10 Essential questions to ask of any EDI software supplier
Are they known to your trading partners - can you get a recommendation or see a case study?
Do they supply an upgrade path - can I move from standalone to integrated at minimal expense; can I upgrade my financial systems and keep the same EDI system?
Do they understand your needs - is the solution being offered really right for your business?
Do they have a relationship with your back office systems provider, are they willing to work with them and take responsibility for delivering the solution without huge consultancy costs?
What are the arrangements for on-going support - is their helpdesk based in the UK and knowledgeable about your trading partners' needs?
Are they financially viable - are they a safe company to invest your money with?
Can the software automatically send messages to my haulier, distributor or 3rd party warehouse?
Can you see a demonstration - are there demonstration CDs available, or will a consultant visit to discuss requirements in detail?
