AIS are currently actively engaged in an XML / EDI rollout with Freeway

Associated Independent Stores, also known as AIS, is the largest independent, voluntary, non-food buying group of its kind in the UK with a combined membership turnover of around £1.6 billion. The group embodies 262 independent department stores and specialist retailers, with 613 outlets across the UK and Ireland.

AIS has traditionally used EDI as a means of reducing transaction costs for its members in dealings with their suppliers. More recently, they have introduced XML schemes based on Basda's eBis standards to reduce costs for suppliers wishing to send invoice and catalogue information to them.

Freeway's Spectrum applications fully support both EDI and XML trading with AIS, including the ability to send XML invoices to AIS without the need to use a Value Added Network (VAN) to deliver messages. Both stand-alone and integrated solutions are available.
