Spectrum Enterprise Solution
Simplified EDI Improves Data Accuracy and Supports Future Growth
Preston, UK (24 November 2008) - Freeway Commerce Ltd, an Inovis company and specialist in EDI and e-commerce integration, today announced that Irwin's Bakery has selected Spectrum Enterprise to manage supply chain communications across England and Northern Ireland with leading grocery retailers, such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Musgraves.
The rollout of Spectrum Enterprise has allowed Irwin's Bakery to improve the functionality of its EDI platform, enabling the organisation to track and manage customer data more effectively, and ensuring that it has a scaleable solution capable of supporting future growth. Spectrum Enterprise will also guarantee that orders received by EDI are imported into Irwin's Bakery's Lawson M3 ERP application so that the correct products are delivered to the right customers, reducing the amount of time employees need to spend manually importing and updating data.
"Accuracy of data is vitally important to our business, so our EDI system must be easy to operate and manage, as well as be available to the entire business on-demand," said John Brennan, EDI Specialist, Irwin's Bakery. "We cannot afford to disappoint our retail partners with incorrect deliveries for both financial and reputation reasons. Spectrum Enterprise helps us avoid this potential problem by keeping our data accurate and available; in addition, it is based on a low fixed-cost price plan which means we can predict our EDI budget into the future, giving us real peace of mind."
Based on the Inovisworks Value Added Network (VAN), Spectrum Enterprise ensures that Irwin's Bakery can receive orders from retailers in any of the required message types used by these organisations. The system can also grow with Irwin's Bakery into the future, as new partners can be added easily to the system.
"Retail suppliers across the UK are under pressure to ensure they can deliver the right goods at the right time to the right place. This requirement is leading organisations to look at next-generation EDI solutions that can reduce the inaccuracies of traditional manual data input by integrating orders directly into back-end office applications," said Paul Kaye, Sales Director, Freeway Commerce. "Spectrum Enterprise enables suppliers to face these challenges head on, improving efficiency and reducing the time spent overseeing and managing EDI operations which ultimately leads to better business relationships and increased growth."
