Compass Group

Compass are the world's largest foodservice operator, with an annual turnover in excess of £10bn.

In 2003 they announced that they would be adopting the OFSCI (Optimum Foodservice Supply Chain Initiative) in line with other major operators such as King UK, Mitchells & Butlers, Unilever and Brake Bros.

OFSCI aims to allow suppliers and customers in the foodservice sector to adopt common standards, thus reducing development and integration costs for implementers.

Freeway is a member of the OFSCI Solution Providers Group and is heavily involved in the roll-out of the technology in the sector, typically involving the use of XML messages delivered over the Internet using AS2.

Freeway has been assisting many suppliers of Compass, supplying solutions to allow Invoices and Credits to be extracted automatically from their back office systems and then delivered using their inherent Internet connection directly to Compass.

Tchibo Coffee is an example who selected Freeway's Spectrum Professional product to allow them to trade electronically with Compass.
