EDI for suppliers in Eire

In recent years there has been a push by many of the leading retailers in Ireland to implement EDI with their suppliers, particularly lead by Dunnes and Musgraves Supervalu. Irish retailers have been gaining in strength, a point highlighted by the recent acquisition of UK retailer, Budgens, by the Musgraves group based in Cork.

Unlike the UK EDI market, where the predominant EDI standard is TRADACOMS, the Irish retailers generally use EDIFACT standards, and any proposed EDI solution needs to cater fully for this and obviously the EURO (€) currency.
