Freeway Commerce has supplied its Spectrum Enterprise e-commerce trading platform to Windrush Frozen Foods. The upgraded server-based system enables Windrush to trade electronically with its customers using both EDI and AS2 technology enabling the company to trade with many more customers, and to cut costs by reducing its use of its Value Added Network (VAN).
In recent years Windrush has expanded rapidly from a turnover of £666,000 in 1995 to £23 million in 2005/6, so the requirement to process many more invoices and orders, in a variety of formats has grown. Spectrum Enterprise is a server grade solution, which sits on the network and allows better access and back-up facilities which gives the system much greater resilience. The web-based system is managed by the IT department at Windrush much more easily than the previous standalone system which was also supplied by Freeway Commerce.
Since installing Spectrum Enterprise Windrush has reduced its administrative overhead for invoicing and customers pay quicker too, so cashflow is improved.
