JD Wetherspoon has grown from a single pub in 1979 to now operating 719 outlets nationwide. It has a commitment to running comfortable, music-free pubs that offer excellent beer, all-day food and first-class service.

Following the replacement of its previous EDI solution, JD Wetherspoon is now in a position to maximise the benefits of EDI by expanding its use of it with its key suppliers. JD Wetherspoon's expansion program has been operating since March 2004 and it would like to be receiving live invoice data from its suppliers as soon as it is able.

JD Wetherspoon conducted an investigation of the EDI market and selected Freeway as its preferred partner to manage the roll-out of EDI to its suppliers. Freeway's Spectrum software will handle the transfer of information via a user-friendly package loaded onto a Windows PC. The same software can also be used with other companies operating in this sector for which EDI or XML-based trading is a requirement.
