Londis seeks to complete EDI invoicing community

Every week Londis receives approximately 41,000 invoices. Impressively 38,000 or 93% of these come via EDI. However that still leaves 3,000 paper invoices to be handled manually.

Londis is determined to get its remaining non-EDI-enabled suppliers to start sending invoices electronically. Says Kenton Lawton, Trading Director at Londis, "EDI is an extremely important business tool which enables both the retailer and supplier to function more effectively."

Londis has recommended to these suppliers that they consider using Freeway Commerce's Spectrum product on the grounds that it is low cost, self-installable, easy to use and can be upgraded to integrate with more than 60 accounting packages.

By using Spectrum, suppliers have the choice of keying in invoices or importing them from their back-office systems.
