In 2001, Travis Perkins, the Northampton based building materials merchant, chose Freeway Commerce Ltd of Preston to manage a major portion of their ecommerce supplier rollout.

The company, which has over 400 UK outlets and is the second largest timber and builders merchant in the country, was quick to realise the cost and efficiency savings EDI and ecommerce can offer.
